U.S. Special Envoy Lambert Discusses Denuclearization of North Korea with Russian Counterparts

Special Envoy for North Korea Mark Lambert met with Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov and Ambassador-at-Large Oleg Burmistrov in Moscow March 4 to discuss continued U.S.-Russia cooperation to achieve the final, fully verified denuclearization of North Korea. The conversation was candid and constructive.

During the meetings, Special Envoy Lambert provided a readout of the February 27-28 U.S.-DPRK summit in Hanoi. He emphasized continued U.S. willingness to engage in discussions with the DPRK to make progress on transforming U.S.-DPRK relations and building lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula, in parallel with progress toward complete denuclearization.
