Please be aware that effective January 1st, 2013, the Russian Federation passed law No. 272-FZ banning intercountry adoptions between the United States and Russia, thus terminating the previous bilateral agreement on adoption. Additionally, Russian Law No. 167-FZ prohibits the adoption of Russian citizens by same sex couples and singles living in countries where same sex marriage is permitted.
