On May 31, Marcus Lamb and Sarah Saperstein offered a workshop on cookie decorating to celebrate the International Day of the Child. In Mayakovsky Park, they offered children the chance to decorate sugar cookies using traditional American buttercream icing. The icing is a home-made recipe from North Carolina, Marcus’ home state. In addition, children made fruit sticks, a snack that American children make by placing fruit on a skewer and adding a little bit of syrup. There were smiles all around as children found their creative side with icing and munched on healthy fruit to celebrate Children’s Day.
