On August 7, Information Resource Center Vladivostok held a screening of the movie “Sleepless in Seattle,” considered by many an ideal romantic comedy. The screening was followed by a discussion led by Public Affairs Officer Erik Pugner during which participants discussed romantic comedy tropes and compared them to the ones used in this particular movie, the origin of the title, the plot and its credibility, the idea that certain people are destined for each other, whether or not Meg Ryan’s character can be considered a stalker, etc. This event was part of the monthly movie series held at IRC Vladivostok on the first Friday of each month.
