On March 23, Dr. Gordon Bronitsky presented on ethnic media and ethnic journalism at the North-Eastern Federal University Department of Journalism in Yakutsk, sharing for three hours his experience of working with the indigenous peoples of North America. During the lecture, students asked questions related to ethnic media of Native Americans and the history of relations between the indigenous peoples of North America and the first settlers and expressed great interest in the life of indigenous peoples today. Mr. Bronitsky afterwards commented that he was pleasantly surprised by the fact that NEFU students’ demeanor strongly reminded him of the reaction of representatives of the Navajo nation with whom he has been cooperating for several years. The day before, Mr. Bronitsky and Erik Pugner, Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Vladivostok, visited the House of Peoples’ Friendship, enjoying masterpieces by local artists and the works of graduate students from the Yakut art school.
