Marcus Micheli is a career member of the United States Foreign Service since 1991.  Mr. Micheli’s overseas assignments have included Moscow, Russia (1992-94 and 2002-04), Warsaw, Poland (1994-96), Kyiv, Ukraine (1996-99), Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hercegovina (2000-01), Podgorica, Montenegro (2007-09), and Chisinau, Moldova (2009-12).

Prior to his arrival in Yekaterinburg, Mr. Micheli served as Director for Central and Eastern European Affairs at the National Security Council, and he also worked for the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs.  He also previously was Deputy Director for the Office of Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus at the Department of State in Washington, DC, and worked in the Office of the Coordinator for U.S. Assistance to the Former Soviet Union.

Mr. Micheli holds a BA in History from Reed College, an MA in International Affairs from Columbia University, and an MA in Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
