In November 2015, Nina Alovert, celebrated octogenarian photographer and ballet critic, who was born in the Soviet Union and immigrated to the United States in 1977, presented Vladivostok with her photo exhibit called “The Gorgeous features of My Dear Friends,” opened at ARKA art gallery. On November 6, Nina gave a presentation at the Far Eastern Arts Academy to theater department students and professors. With a backdrop of photos from the exhibit, she told fascinating stories about her encounters and friendships with a number of famous Russian ballet dancers and writers, including Sergey Dovlatov, Joseph Brodsky, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Nikolai Tsiskaridze, and Diana Vishneva. The presentation was repeated at a city public library for general public.
