On December 13, experts from the University of Kansas Sean Swindler (Center for Autism Research and Training at Kansas University) and Amy Allison of the Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City Amy Allison shared their experience on supporting children with autism with interested stakeholders in Yekaterinburg. The meeting took place via a video conference organized by the U.S. Consulate General and the “I am Special” charitable foundation. More than forty Russian parents, NGOs and educators discussed aspects of diagnosis and early intervention, and ways for adaptation and social inclusion of children with autism at school. The audience will continue the dialogue in a series of upcoming DVCs.
