Dwayne Scheuneman and REVolutions Dance, an inclusive dance company that comprises one wheelchair dancer and three dancers without disabilities, visited the Urals April 21-29, promoting diversity in the arts. They offered workshops for Russian youth and adults in Yekaterinburg and Perm, challenging children and adults of all abilities to be creative together. In Yekaterinburg the U.S. dancers participated in the Youth Inclusion Games, worked with students of the Everest school and with the general public. Their workshops focused on techniques for teaching dance to the disabled and strategies for including the disabled in creative productions. In Yekaterinburg, they performed jointly with students from their workshops, students from the Liberal Arts University and students from Schelkunchik. In Perm, REVolutions Dance commemorated World Dance Day with the Perm Grotesk Ensemble and members of the deaf community at the Perm Community Center Gubernia.
