Health and Travel Alert – U.S. Mission Russia (April 16, 2020)
Location: Russia, country-wide
Event: Possible Aeroflot Flight on April 17
Aeroflot is seeking permission to operate a flight departing Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport (SVO) to New York-JFK on Friday, April 17 at 14:15. As with previous recent flights, Aeroflot requires governmental permission to operate these special flights. This permission typically arrives on short notice. Accordingly, Aeroflot recommended that those wishing to purchase tickets report to the Aeroflot ticketing counter at Terminal F of Sheremetyevo airport on April 17 and wait to see if permission to sell tickets is approved. Please note that there is no official confirmation that this flight will take place.
We urge you to check Aeroflot’s website regularly or contact Aeroflot customer service for the most up to date information. If you learn of an outgoing flight, please alert us at MoscowACS@state.gov so that we may work to confirm and share the information as widely as possible.
Please note that the Embassy is not creating lists of potential passengers, nor are we involved in the selection or ticketing of passengers for Aeroflot flights. We understand that Aeroflot customer service sometimes mistakenly refers customers to the Embassy. Please contact Aeroflot directly to book a seat for these flights.
We do not have plans to organize additional charter flights at this time. We will update the U.S. citizen community as we have additional information of commercial airline flights.
