“Blade Runner”, at IRC Vladivostok

On February 6, IRC Vladivostok held a screening of the movie “Blade Runner”; a haunting mixture of science fiction and film noir. The film raises intriguing questions such as “what is life,” “what does it mean to be human,” and if our ever-increasing dependency on technology is necessarily a good thing. The screening was followed by a discussion led by Public Affairs Officer Erik Pugner during which participants discussed these themes, whether the movie’s depiction of a decayed future is realistic, and the significance of various plot points. This event was part of the monthly movie series held at IRC Vladivostok on the first Friday of each month.
