American Graffiti, at IRC Vladivostok

On July 2, Information Resource Center Vladivostok held a screening of the movie “American Graffiti,” a 1973 American coming of age comedy-drama film directed and co-written by a pre-Star Wars George Lucas. The screening was bookended by discussions led by Public Affairs Officer Erik Pugner, covering Lucas’ nostalgia for the early 60s following the societal ruptures during the Vietnam war, the autobiographical nature of the movie, and the nostalgia inherent in U.S. 4th of July celebrations. This event was part of the monthly movie series held at IRC Vladivostok on the first Friday of each month.
