US Actor and theater director Allen Nause was invited to the once-Siberian capital, Tobolsk to stage Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple at the Tobolsk Ershov Drama Theater. Mr. Nause spent five weeks in Russia directing and staging the classic American play. A follower of Stanislavskiy, Mr. Nause noted in his interview to a local news outlet how mutually enriching and rewarding the experience had been both for him and for the Russian actors. Despite the low summer season, the first shows of the play featured full houses and positive reviews. The play will be included in the theater’s repertoire and will premier in the 2017 season.
